WRINKLE RELAXORS

  • You would not be considered a candidate for Botox® or Dysport if you have any of the following:

    Myasthenia Gravis

    Allergy to Botulinum Toxin

    Neuromuscular disorder

    Pregnant or breastfeeding

    Allergy to human albumin

    Anaphylactic allergy to dairy products (Dysport)

    Anaphylactic allergy to eggs (Botox)

    • The results of your treatment can take up to 14 days to take full effect. Usually, patients notice a change in 3-5 days with Dysport and 4-5 days with Botox. It takes time for the muscles to relax and the lines on the face to fade after treatment.

    • Please wait until 14 days have passed before assessing if you are pleased with the results.

    • Do not consume alcoholic beverages at least 24 hours prior to treatment (alcohol may thin the blood and increase the risk of bruising.

    • Avoid anti-inflammatory/blood thinning medications, if possible for a period of 2 weeks before treatment. Medications and supplements such as aspirin, vitamin E, ginkgo biloba, ginseng, St. John’s Wort, Omega 3/Fish Oil supplements, Ibuprofen, Motrin, Advil, Aleve and other NSAIDS have a blood thinning effect and can increase the risk of bruising and swelling after injections.

    • Schedule your appointment at least 2 weeks prior to a special event which you may be attending, such as a wedding or a vacation. Results from the injections will take approximately 4 to 7 days to appear. Also bruising and swelling may be apparent in that time period.

    • Reschedule your appointment at least 24 hours in advance if you have a rash, cold sore or blemish on the area.

    • Be sure to have a good breakfast, including food and drink before your procedure. This will decrease the chances of lightheadedness during your treatment.

    • Do not lay down for 4 hours after injections.

    • No massaging / hard pressure on the injected area(s) for 14 days.

    • No facials, body massages, brow treatments (wax, lamination, microblading, etc.) for 14 days.

    • Skincare and sleep can resume normally 4 hours after injections.

    • No make up on the injected area(s) for the rest of the day.

    • No strenuous activity for 24 hours.

    • Avoid alcohol, Advil (or other anti-inflammatories) and blood thinners the night of.

    • Avoid smoking.

    Expect tenderness, itching, swelling and potential bruising to the injected area(s). If you have serious pain, contact the nurse immediately. Swelling can be temporarily asymmetrical, this is normal.

DERMAL FILLERS

    • Avoid taking aspirin or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs such as Ibuprofen, Advil®, Motrin®, Nuprin®, Aleve®, Celebrex®, Fish oil, Gingko Biloba, St. John’s Wort and high doses of vitamin E for at least 7 days before your appointment, unless medically necessary.

    • If you are taking prescription blood thinners such as Coumadin or Plavix, you should check with the prescribing doctor to see if you are able to stop these medicines for 7-10 days before your appointment and at least 2 days after the procedure has been done.

    • If you have any history of Herpes Simplex (cold sores) on your face, typically an anti-viral medication will be prescribed for after the treatment to prevent an outbreak, ensure this medical history is shared with your Nurse Practitioner.

    • Arrive with a clean face (no makeup or moisturizer).

    • The majority of reactions to dermal fillers are redness, swelling, bruising and tenderness after the injections. These usually subside a few days after the treatment, but can last up to a week. If any of these symptoms persist longer than a week, or if you develop other symptoms, please contact our office.

    • Cold compresses may be used after the treatment to reduce swelling and decrease soreness. You may take Tylenol (if not contraindicated) every 4-6 hours after the treatment to help with any discomfort you may have.

    • Make-up may be applied a few hours after the treatment, if no complications are present, such as open wounds, bleeding or infection.

    • Patients should avoid strenuous exercise for 48 hours to prevent moving the filler or increasing blood flow to the face.

    • Avoid taking aspirin (unless medically necessary) or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs such as Ibuprofen, Advil®, Motrin®, Nuprin®, Aleve®, Celebrex®, Fish oil, Gingko Biloba , St. John’s Wort and high doses of vitamin E for 5 days after the treatment, as these may cause an increased risk of bleeding or bruising at the injection sites.

    • Remember to wear sunscreen daily.

    • With under-eye/tear trough Skinbooster treatment ice the under eyes for 15 minutes at least 2-3 times per day for the first 48-72 hours after treatment. Also sleep with an extra pillow the first two nights after treatment to help minimize swelling.

SCULPTRA

    • Sculptra is an injectable dermal filler biostimulant used to treat fine lines and wrinkles and to stimulate collagen production. Sculptra activates your skin’s natural power to revitalize collagen production for a more youthful appearance, adding fullness to the face, temples and jawline.

    • Sculptra works with your body to stimulate collagen production lost to aging, rebuilding and reinforcing your skin’s structural foundation. Through a series of treatments, typically about three sessions over a few months, it restores the support and volume of youthful-looking skin, providing results that can last up to two years.

    • Sculptra consists of Poly- L-Lactic Acid, which is a synthetic polymer that has been used in the human body since 1960 and as medical suture material since 1970.

    Note: A consultation is required prior to your first Sculptra treatment.

    • You would not be considered a candidate for Sculptra if you have or are taking any of the following:

    • Pregnant or breastfeeding.

    • Taking any medications used to decrease the body’s natural defence system (immunosuppressants).

    • Have a bleeding disorder or are taking any medication that can thin your blood or prolong bleeding, such as aspirin and warfarin.

    • Recently had skin therapies such as laser treatment, mechanical or chemical peels or hair removal. This may lead to increased risk of side effects such as redness, swelling, heat or pain of the skin.

    • Have severe allergies with a history of severe reactions (anaphylaxis) or multiple severe allergies.

    • Are allergic to any ingredient of Sculptra: “poly-L-lactic acid” (PLLA), carboxymethylcellulose (USP) or non-pyrogenic mannitol (USP).

    • Previously had or have risk factors for hypertrophic scarring or keloid formation.

    • Avoid or minimize hard (strenuous) exercise and exposure to extensive sun, UV lamps, indoor tanning beds/booths, or extreme temperatures within the first 24 hours after treatment with Sculptra. Any of these may cause temporary redness, swelling, pain and/or itching at the injection site.

    • Make-up may be applied a few hours after treatment if there are no complications such as open wounds or bleeding.

    • Massage the treated area for 5 minutes 5 times per day for 5 days after your treatment.

    • Within the first 24 hours after your treatment, apply ice or an ice pack wrapped in cloth (avoid putting ice directly on your skin) to the treatment area to help reduce swelling.

GLASS FACIAL

    • AquaGold, also known as “baby Botox” or mesotherapy, is a luxury therapy.

    • This treatment is a customizable facial that offers a cocktail of neurotoxins (Botox, Dysport or Xeomin), Restylane Skinboosters, vitamins, and/or platelet-rich plasma. This facial is delivered through a microchannel device to the face, neck and chest.

    • Not only does this treatment shrink pores and help with fine lines, but it also helps tremendously with oily skin.

    • Please note that this treatment does not replace neurotoxin treatments for wrinkles and fine lines. This is an adjunct for those looking for a beautiful glow or to control their oily complexion.

    • Try to use the injected muscles for the first 1-2 hours after treatment: practice frowning, raising your eyebrows and squinting. This helps work Botox® into your muscles.

    • Do not touch or rub injected site for 2-4 hours following treatment. Avoid exercise and sweating for the remainder of the day and no lying down or leaning forward for 3-4 hours after treatment.

    • There can be a slight chance of bruising at the treated site, this is temporary. Be assured that any tiny bumps or marks will go away within a few hours of treatment.

    • Avoid Ibuprofen, Advil or Motrin, Tylenol is acceptable to take if experiencing discomfort (if not contraindicated)

VITAMIN INJECTIONS

  • Lipotropic or Vitamin B12 or (B complex - fat loss) injections, typically injected once monthly. Great for individuals with vitamin deficiencies causing fatigue, low energy, difficulty concentrating and low metabolism. Injected into the arm or buttock area.

    Note: Patients suffering from an active infection, cancer or other autoimmune disorders are contraindicated for this treatment.

    • To maximize results, discontinue the following 7 days prior to treatment:

    • β-Lactum Antibiotics

    • Vitamin E

    • Multivitamins

    • Omega-3 Fatty Acids

B-PULSE

  • Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing and underwear.

  • Clients may return to their normal activities immediately after receiving a B-Pulse treatment.

VITALIA

    • Ensure you are well hydrated to achieve optimum treatment results. Hydrate by drinking plenty of water or hydrating fluids several days in advance.

    • Avoid alcohol if possible.

    • Do not wear constrictive clothing. A treatment gown will be given to change into and your lower back must be accessible for placement of the neutral pad.

    • If the external vaginal area is being treated, shave any dense hair 24 hours before your appointment.

    • Must not have taken Accutane for a minimum of 6 months prior to treatment.

    • The treatment area must be free of any open lesions or infections.

    • Must not have a history of cancer or herpes in the treatment area.

    • You should not be experiencing any abnormal symptoms such as spotting, bleeding, pain or prolapse.

    • Remove any jewelry or body piercings in the area being treated prior to your appointment.

  • Clients may typically return to their normal activities immediately after receiving a Vitalia treatment.

    Temporary redness (erythema) and edema (minor swelling) of the skin following treatment is normal and may be visible on external treatments.

    Avoid hot tubs or hot water when washing or showering until erythema (redness) has subsided.

    Use only water-based moisturizers (no oils) immediately after treatment to calm or soothe the skin, if necessary.

    There is an unlikely but potential risk of an allergic reaction to the ultrasound gel or adhesive on the return pad that is applied to the skin during the treatment. Such risks include temporary swelling, itching and formation of a rash.

    Hydration before treatments is the key to achieving the best results possible.

O-SHOT

    • Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing and underwear.

    • No thongs.

    • If you are menstruating, your appointment will need to be rescheduled.

    • You may take a pain medication (Advil/Tylenol) prior to your arrival if you wish.

  • You may experience some mild spotting or bleeding.

    Refrain from intercourse for 38 hours following treatment.
